Stomp Shop is just over a month old and we’ve been floored by the amazing response. Thanks from all of us to everyone who has streamed a tune, or told a friend. We are in your debt.
This is a new poem called Loose Change. I hope it finds you well.
Breathe, you heathen
Hell hath no time for your delay
There is only sin and rabbit holes
Live to sin another day
Buried deep in layman’s ruins
Crows like pilgrims set to feast
Vows of starry nights gone by
A secret life in laundromats
A blanket funeral parlor screaming
Mercy, mercy, mercy Me
O! Joy O! Thanks
O! Praise O! Holy recompense
Short on quarters, long term goings on
You sit and write a love song
You sit and try to write a love song.
(drag of cigarette)
Find the beds and closets
The other places that can harbor your slender body
A collection, a case full of watches rewinding
There are shadows in the hallway
Always different, every evening
All else remains unchanged
Our lean and lissom bodies the verses
Our bountiful garden the refrain
Shoplifting table decorations
“Must’ve slipped my mind” she says
Prodding at the titans of faith
At the tragedy
Of common things
A collection, a box of signet rings
One size fits all
Lure out the parasites
Back to thoughts of loose change.
Lots more Mac on the way. Peace and power.
